There is something especially magical about the final days of summer on Shelter Island, the salt air, sun-warmed docks and lingering golden light that makes every waterfront dinner feel a little more memorable. This Labor Day weekend, The Pridwin Hotel & Cottages is capturing that unmistakable East End feeling with the debut of the First Annual Shelter Island Seafood Fête, taking place September 4–7, 2026.

Set along Crescent Beach, the celebratory weekend brings together the simple luxuries of island life: freshly shucked oysters, chilled Champagne, locally caught seafood and sunset views across the bay. Designed as a fitting farewell to the season, the festivities begin Saturday with A Toast to Summer: Champagne & Oysters on the Bay. Guests will gather along the waterfront for East End oysters, an abundant raw bar, seasonal seafood, live music and Champagne as boats return to the harbor beneath the evening sky.

On Sunday, Executive Chef Todd Ruiz presents the inaugural Shelter Island Seafood Fête—a seafood-forward interpretation of The Pridwin’s beloved Wednesday Night BBQ. The family-style dinner will feature just-shucked oysters, grilled lobster, seasonal fish, generous coastal sides and live music, all served against the resort’s picturesque waterfront backdrop.

For those wishing to savor the entire weekend, The Pridwin is also offering an exclusive overnight VIP package for two. The experience includes VIP access to Saturday’s Toast to Summer celebration and Sunday’s Shelter Island Seafood Fête dinner, along with daily continental breakfast and access to the resort’s amenities.
